My family is of Irish descent and very pleased with ourselves indeed, especially on St. Patrick’s Day. In the city where my brother lives, they have had an annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade for many years now and he participates as A Classic Leprechaun, which makes me happy and very proud!

So what’s your favorite thing about St. Patrick’s Day?

  7. We don’t celebrate St. Patric Day in my country, so I don’t have any memories to share. When I see the TV relations from other countries there are many drinking and singing people wearing funny hats. I think for most it’s just an excuse to get drunk. However I like the other symbol of Ireland – clover.
A four-leaf clover brings luck. I loved looking for them as a child.

  10. For me it’s about being with my family as with any celebrations. A bit or lot of luck makes it especially wonderful.

  14. Sadly, we don’t celebrate it here in Iceland, even though Icelanders are made up of Norwegian farmers/vikings and Irish slaves. I feel a bit cheated, actually! What I like, in the photos I see, are the green leprechauns ^.^ I like that their myth is being carried on…erm…in other ways than on Lucky Charm cereal boxes.

  15. I like all the celebrating and the traditions! The color green is splashed everywhere. Everyones dressed up and its a blast to just spend time with family and have fun! Thanks for sharing and for the giveaway! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

  17. My favorite thing about St. Patty’s Day is that it reminds me of my grandfather. He always loved the holiday & collected all kinds of “Kiss Me I’m Irish” (I don’t know how much Irish he had though).

  20. St. Patrick’s Day is a National Holiday at my house. We get ready for the parade at 7 which starts at 10. Then we go to the in laws and eat, eat, eat. Play games with the kiddos and eat some more. Some members exchange gifts. Then it is off to the pub crawl. Fun times for everyone.

  21. Hi! My favorite thing about St. Paddy’s Day is the food. I admit it. But I’ll be celebrating with myths and movies tomorrow. Hey, just wanted to say I saw the cover for Wreck of the Nebula Dream on The Galaxy Express, I believe it was, and immediately put it on my to buy list. I’ll be getting it when I find it. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
